Janet knew since she can remember that she wanted to make the "animals well" before she even understood the word "veterinarian".  Once the word was defined for her she set her mind to becoming one!

She graduated with her BS from Rutgers University in 1976 and garnered one of the 5 available seats at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine reserved for New Jersey residents.

In addition to receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, Janet found the love of her life sitting in the same classroom.  She and Jack Love married in September, 1980 and shared a practice together for 24 years.  During the way they had two beautiful children, Mike and Gillian, both of whom attend the College of Charleston.

Dr. McKim's special interests in internal medicine, cancer therapy, geriatrics and feline medicine lead her to investigate the value of complementary treatments for her patients.  In 1992 she obtained her certification in veterinary acupuncture and in 1996 certification in Chinese medicinal herbs.

After almost 30 years of practice Dr. McKim is still grateful she has the opportunity to follow her dream and looks forward to sharing her experience and skills with Dr. George's clients and patients.
